I am just so happy to say that Isaac finally...finally...finally goes eats every 4 hours now!!! HALLELUJAH. We have been eating every 2.5-3 hours for the last 6 months. That's a lot. I get like a whole extra hour now.
We have been doing solid foods for about 3 weeks now and Isaac really likes it. I was planning on waiting a little longer but he was very ready and was starting to attack our food when we were eating lol. So I decided to try.
Man does this boy love the sweet potatoes. He literally attacks the spoon lol. He also likes avocado, bananas, yogurt, pears, apples, peas and I think that is all we have tried. Oh wait...I tried squash but it's safe to say he isn't a fan of that yet. I am still trying on that one.
I am also making most of my baby food this time too. Sheesh it is so easy and so nice to know where it's been before I feed it to him. I wish I had the time (or taken the time) to do this for Ethan, but given his liking (more like disliking) of solids I would say he wouldn't eat the food I made either ha ha.
Here is the cutie enjoying his food:

Light Bulbs
In my previous life I used to think all the time how long lasting our light bulbs were. Rarely did we have to change them. In my new life, where I stay home all day, I have come to realize that our light bulbs are not so long lasting lol...we were just never home. How sad is that. This weekend Jon changed 3 light bulbs out in just the kitchen. I won't mention the one in my room or the back room that need to be changed currently. The last time we changed light bulbs there were 7 out before we could get to the store ha ha. I hate sitting in a dark room, so if I am home I keep all the windows open and the lights on in whatever room I am in. Maybe my prince charming will fix the other two for me when he gets home. Although he will have to wade through a mountain of clothes that need to be folded, so maybe he will fold first. :) A girl can wish right??
I have come to realize that I also buy way more dishwasher soap and paper towels...
Oh Paper Towels..I am not very green. It's so easy to just grab one whenever I need to dry my hands or wipe on the the kids. I am working on this habit. But it's hard. I limit myself to one roll a week. HA HA HA, I think I need to find more coupons to support my paper towel habit.
Well that was pretty random but it's Tuesday and we had a busy Easter weekend so I am taking it pretty easy today.

Ethan Style
Poor Ethan has been fighting something for a good three weeks. Fever has been gone for two weeks but I can tell he doesn't feel 100%. And in true Ethan style...the virus caused what the Dr. is calling Reactive Airway Disease. From what I have been reading it's essentially Asthma but without the diagnosis of Asthma. We are doing breathing treatments for the next two weeks 3 times a day and then we will follow up with his Dr. again to see if this was truly caused by a virus or if he has asthma. I really hope he doesn't have asthma but then again if it turns out to be at least we know and can get him the right meds and treatments so he feels better.
His cough is already a lot better and he has a ton more energy. Jon and I were both commenting how "down" he has really been the last three weeks. Sunday he was outside most of the day with Jon. I had no idea a cough was a symptom of asthma.
So here is a picture of my boy doing his breathing treatment. He does great with them. And after the second one he said "ahhh that is better". Poor guy. I would appreciate your prayers as we try to make sure they can figure out exactly what caused this.

[5] Months with [Little Dude]
Isaac is often called "Little Dude" around here. He is already 5 months old!
So here are his stats and noteworthy items:
* Height: 17 lbs 15 oz
* Length: Long (for lack of an exact weight) :)
* Started solids this week. He is very excited about eating! I will do a whole post on that later.
* Got sick for the first time. Oh it was so sad. He had a little fever for a good 7 days and was just not liking any of it. He now just has a runny nose which is bothering him when he sleeps but otherwise he is good.
* Rolls everywhere. He has figured out how to turn if he wants to face another way and he just figured out how to continuously roll to get somewhere. It's so cute.
* Still prefers his tummy. He is rarely on his back...even when playing.
* Does not like strangers and if mommy is in the room he is fairly certain she should be holding him. And I am not even exaggerating that one bit.
* Starting to sit, almost has the hang of it...but does pretty good with a boppy around him.
* He does this funny leaning thing where if Jon or someone else is holding him and he hears my voice or sees me he leans as far as he can in that direction. It is so funny. The other day Jon had him while I was in the shower and we were talking and Isaac kept leaning and was getting fidgety. So Jon finally lifted him over the shower curtain and as soon as he saw me he got a big ole grin lol. It was so cute.
* Schedule...ha ha...funny. He is completely different than Ethan. Ethan thrived on his schedule. He woke up at the same time, ate at the same time, went to bed at the same time and napped at the same time. Almost to the exact minute. And that is how he wanted it.
Isaac...no way. After 5 months of trying I have given up. He wakes up sometimes at 630, sometimes at 8. He eats every 3 hours, although today it was 4...go figure. He naps...but not when I think he should. But oh man he is the happiest boy so I have come to the conclusion that something must be right and he obviously is in charge not me lol. It's very hard but I am learning to just go with the flow for Isaac. I am still working on the naps but I figure if he is happy then I am happy.
* Good eater still. In fact he thinks we should eat every 4 hours at night too! I am trying to convince him otherwise, but I think I am loosing there as well.
* Screams, Yells, Shrieks in happiness all the time. He has a loud yell let me tell you.
* FIRST TOOTH - his first tooth came through on April 12!! I was not expecting a tooth already.
Boy I sure do love this little guy!!
(if someone could please tell me why blogger insists on turning this picture even though the original was saved the correct way I would really appreciate it!!!)

Creation - Day 1
I decided to make Friday's a fun day over here (although I'd like to think every day is fun here ha ha) and do something special. We had a creation "themed day" over here. Now I use the term "themed day" loosely because my friend Kelly has full on theme days that are awesome. But for lack of another term that is what I am calling it.
I didn't spend one dollar on this theme day!! Here is what I did......................
Breakfast greeted them with their Easter baskets we made filled with some chocolate eggs...because who doesn't like chocolate, a jar and a little "flag" type thing that has day one on it. The jar was what we were going to do for their craft but I didn't tell them what we were going to do with it so they were very curious. Ethan wanted to know why it wasn't full of applesauce.
After breakfast and some playtime we read the story of creation and learned about what God did the first day. But since I am reading it to a 3 year old and a 4 year old I decided to spice it up a bit. Since the first day was about how he separated the darkness from the light I read the story in my laundry room in the dark. The kids thought this was the funniest thing ever. Then when we discussed how it was completely dark and when suddenly there was light I turned on one of our brightest flashlights. You would have thought I was taking these kids to Disneyland with their giggles and laughter.
{I didn't take a picture of our laundry room story time since it was dark - so insert imaginary picture here}
Then they played for a while because Baby "I" needed to eat and to go down for a nap and Baby "B" needed his bottle and a nap too.
Then like 45 minutes later lol....we got around to our project. So for this I had to get a little creative because I do not know how to represent light and dark in a craft. I decided to do something with a candle. First I was going to have them make candles but then I remembered that I have 4 children during the day and perhaps I should do something a little simpler. So I started thinking of ways to make candle holders.
Here is what I came up with: Tissue paper + Mod Podge + Glass Jar = loads of fun and one pretty cute candle holder.
Next week we will do day 2 and I have no idea what we will do yet. I should get working on that.

Spring Break
I had a lot planned for Ethan and I over spring break. I didn't have all four kids so we were going to venture out from the house. Something we don't do often since I am not brave to take all four by myself anywhere. but early in the middle of the night Monday Ethan woke up with a cough. One of the ones where mommy knows exactly what it is without getting up. Sure enough he ended up getting croup. Poor guy was wheezing on Monday and you could hear him breathing in the other room. So we ended up going to the doctor and he got a steroid.
Next thing I knew my sweet baby Isaac had a fever and was feeling pretty crummy. This was Isaac's first time being sick. I will go ahead and speak for him and say he didn't appreciate it. He is still stuffed up but gladly his fever is gone. Isaac hasn't slept good since Monday night at all. He is restless, stuffy and just wants mommy. Sometimes he doesn't even know what he wants he is just angry lol.
My mom was sweet and came over a few times to rock him so I could take a break and make dinner and shower. It's the simple things haha. But he is on the mend and I am glad that I can be here for him to help him feel better...even if it is 24 hours a day all hours of the night. ;) It's still the best job in the world!
I have tons of fun planned for these kiddos so I must run and get things together.
